Interview

1. Do you watch MTV shows? If so, which ones? If not, why not?
A: I sometimes watch Jersey Shore because it's really funny how dumb they are.
2.Did you watch MTV before the reality TV shows (not music related) were playing?
A: I used to watch Making the Band but that's it. Well that's the only music related show I saw airing.
3. Does it bother you that they don't play music related TV?
Not really. I think it doesn't makes sense that they don't but it doesn't bother me.
4. If they had music related TV shows would you watch?
Yeah, if they are entertaining and play good music.
5. Do you think the TV shows cause problems?
It depends if people are naive enough to follow the actions of some people on tv then it does cause problems. Like no originality, drinking all the time, sexual intercourse with who ever is willing, etc.
6. Should MTV still be called "MTV"?
No I don't think so. Its not 'Music Television' anymore so it should change with the direction the channel has taken.
7. Do you think the TV shows affected the way people act?
Yeah, some people think everything on TV shows what is "cool" or the "norm" so people copy it.
8. Do you think the TV shows are appropriate?
I wouldn't use the word appropriate to describe them but they are not affecting us positively, but they are entertaining.
9. Do you think MTV is a representation of today's culture?
Yes it kind of does because there has been an increase in teen pregnancy and i know more teens who drink just because they think it's cool.
10. How do you think we can turn MTV into a more positive aspect to society?
Maybe if they didn't encourage teen pregnancy or make it seem like drinking 24/7 is a good thing or acting dumb or getting pregnant young will get you paid.
